Decorating tips for private clinics
Do you know the phrase“The first impression is what lasts”? This is a message immortalized by the French deodorant brand AXE and reinforced by the motto of the American shampoo brand Head & Shoulders which, in the 90s, said:“you never get a second chance to make a first impression”. The truth is that the first impression counts, especially the visual one.
In any situation. Whether it prevails or not is a different story. However, studies state that the first impression is formed immediately after a new contact (between seven seconds and two minutes).
Now, this means that the decoration of the entrance to your private clinic is one of the most important points for forming the first impression. In this sense, it is necessary to pay special attention and consider the following points:
1. LIGHT, COLOR AND FURNITURE
First of all, the entrance decoration should focus on taking advantage of natural light and strategic installation ofartificial light sources.
Likewise, the positioning of furniture and service counters must guide patients within the space, in order to speed up workflows and increase the quality of the service provided.
If the space is small, you should bear in mind that light tones – such as pastel – amplify the space and offer a feeling of openness. The same happens with mirrors: true sources of light, elegance and depth.

2. MATERIALS AND TEXTURES
Alongside this, the decoration of your private clinic should be a reflection of the brand's values. In other words, the quality of the materials, the various textures and the different details incorporated into the clinical environment are equally important aspects.
Therefore, to be successful, the decoration of the space must play with colors, but also with material and textures. That is, to expand the visual effect and make the most of every corner, create an obvious visual contrast in the interior environment of your entrance.
For example, if you have a beautiful coffee table and you want to make it stand out, paint it a certain color and make sure that tone only occupies 20% of the entire space. You could eventually use the same color on some shelves or in a picture on the wall. The important thing here is to define which decorative element is most worthy of prominence and give it the necessary attention!

3. DECORATIVE ACCESSORIES
A tip from many decorators is to add one or several striking decorative accessories to the space, such as a rug or even a simple vase with a bold design. This will help to enhance the internal environment and allow it to be distinguished from other treatment, consultation and/or surgery rooms.

4. FORM AND FUNCTION
The decoration of your clinic cannot ignore the importance of mobility. This means that accessibility must be at the heart of any decoration.
Therefore, the entire space must be designed around the correct movement of patients, which means finding a balance between the dominant form and the function of the space. For example, sofas, tables and chairs must be positioned to allow free movement of patients with reduced mobility.

How to decorate offices?
When decorating treatment rooms, functionality should be a priority. The arrangement of furniture and technical equipment must be meticulously thought out to facilitate the work of healthcare professionals and save time. Here, small touches of color can be made to break up the monotony typically associated with clinical environments.
1. NATURAL LIGHT SOURCES
If possible, you should leave the windows free to give the space a larger feeling. However, in large and open perimeters, you can demarcate different areas by introducing curtains, screens, shelves or translucent walls.
All of these alternatives provide intimacy, without compromising the space and light levels present. Finally, in surgical areas, the best option is to prioritize sobriety and intimacy, avoiding the introduction of merely decorative elements.
2. CUSTOMIZATION
When decorating clinical environments, customization is a fundamental element. The appearance of your clinic must be directly related to the type of services you provide.
For example, a pediatrician's clinic will have to incorporate bright colors into the design, while a psychiatrist's office will have a more functional and minimalist look.
3. ADAPTABLE SPACES
Manoeuvrable furniture and fixtures are an emerging trend in the world of design. A reality that is particularly palpable in the healthcare sector, where this adaptability becomes especially convenient. For example, if healthcare professionals and other staff can expand or divide consultation rooms as needed, the clinic can meet the different needs of its patients without losing time or efficiency.
In this way, by placing adaptability at the forefront of your decoration plan, you will be able to transform the different environments of your clinic, in full compliance with the demands of the healthcare provided.
